My Favorite Spot, June 9th
I love it when a plan comes together. I can’t stop staring at my corner bed, where bright orange pixie lilies, blue geraniums, and yellow tickseed and stella d’oro daylilies are blooming. The orange lilies alone are not for the faint of heart. Their coloring is so intense it is almost fluorescent. Combined with yellow and blue, the effect is traffic-stopping. (Good thing the bed is far from the street!) Yowza! The purple sage, blue larkspur, and assorted snapdragons are next to bloom here.

FABOO!
And I love your current pic - you crack me up. Humor is so under-represented on the blogs I read! Thanks!
Wow! I love the color combo.
I have those same orange lilies! They've multiplied, so I have a nice swath going on. All from two plants originally.
I love them with the geranium.
Whoa! I have some peach pixie lilies too (in fact, there's a pic on my blog) but they look nothing like yours! Yours are like...totally orange. I dig that color.
I also like to throw a million colors and textures together in one bed. Something about the chaos soothes me. Hmm.
BTW about poppies...they are kinda poopie in my opinion. Although gorgeous, the flowers do NOT last long even without succumbing to kitty munchies.
I love those lilies! I think I may have to get some of those beauties.
Speaking of poppies, I have Shirley Double Flowered poppies in one of my beds. The first one to bloom this year was poopie, but the second one is gorgeous. It bloomed at the first of the week and shows no sign of fading.
I love the color combo. I have the exact same lillies, but neither are blooming yet.
Is your profile pic from your current theatre production?
I think the profile pic is getting as much attention as my orange lilies! I'm wearing my wig for the drag scene in The Gospel According to Tammy Faye.
You are in Ohio? I used to live in Ohio and somehow daylilies just look better in the midwest. Here in CA they grow fine, but just don't look as amazing and vibrant.
